Ljubljana Fashion Week Best (day 1)
As I came home from the first day of Ljubljana Fashion Week I took a steaming hot shower because my behind was starting to freeze. Underground parking garage Kozolec offered the longest runway, cool industrial vibe and cool temperature. As we were sitting there in our full winter ensembles, facing each other across the runway, waiting for the magic moment in our daily grind I was thinking about how coat sales are gonna be sky high tomorrow.
Thankfully some fashion designers and their work warmed my heart. Especially Croatian fashion designer Loreta Gudelj, leading force behind the brand Loré. Latin American temperament of her garments was refreshing like a Mojito. Her girls were cool and fabulous. I loved her coat with kaleidoscopic pattern and black dresses with red fringes and stiches. The yellow coat was warm and cozy and long petrol dress with sexy “flamenco” slevees was just the right length. The denim part of collection was quite quirky and I loved that she showed some sense of humor. I can totally see me wearing that funky “hairy” jacket.
Our Slovenian designer Aleksandra Brlan took me from Latin America to Bali. I can easily see her resort-like pieces in my wardrobe. There is something so comforting in easy-to-wear collections. The feeling of knowing these clothes intimately, as if they already were in your wardrobe and part of your life, they just transformed into something young and beautiful over night.
On the one hand there is this relaxed zone of ready-to-wear and then there is Neo Design. Strong survivors of some apocaliptic future were walking down the runway and that fine line between pleasure and pain. I felt as if Nevena Ivanović was playing some game of hide and seek with us. Every piece so intricately made and full of suprises.
